Our Story
If we had to find a single thread connecting our entire history, it would not be a person, a machine or a building.
It would be a number.
Our VAT number.
Since March 18th, 1963, that number has never changed. It has passed through decades, different markets, economic crises, technological revolutions and several generations of entrepreneurs. It has survived transformations that completely reshaped the way companies manufacture, sell and communicate.
Over more than sixty years, people have changed. Partners have changed. Employees, customers and technologies have changed.
The world around us has changed.
Paper has remained.
And with it has remained a body of knowledge that, rather than being handed down through a single family, has been passed from one generation of professionals to the next. Each generation has inherited the work of those who came before, striving to improve it and pass it on stronger than they found it.
Our story begins in 1963, when Vittorio Rossi founded a small company dedicated to paper converting. Those who knew him remember a hardworking, curious man deeply devoted to his craft. He belonged to a generation of artisans who took pride in solving problems, building things with their own hands and considering quality work a matter of personal honor.
Yet Vittorio Rossi possessed another important quality.
He never believed in building a company alone.
Throughout his professional life, he looked for people with whom he could share responsibilities, knowledge and growth. He sought partners, collaborators and professionals who could contribute not only capital, but also experience, talent and expertise.
Perhaps this vision is one of the reasons why Rossi has been able to thrive for so many decades.
Over the years, some people joined the company and others moved on. Some spent their entire careers with us, while others accompanied us through only a portion of our journey. Each left something behind: knowledge, relationships, ideas, improvements, customers or opportunities.
Rossi grew layer by layer.
Not through sudden revolutions, but through hundreds of small improvements that gradually transformed a small artisan workshop into a structured company.
As the world evolved, so did the needs of our customers. Paper remained the same fascinating material, but the ways in which it could be used multiplied. New products, new markets and new applications emerged. Rossi learned how to adapt without ever losing its identity.
At the beginning of the 2000s, a new chapter began. The company evolved, strengthened its structure and became Rossi Carta. It was an important transition, marking the transformation from a business closely tied to its founders into an organization capable of standing on its own.
In 2004, Rossi Carta S.r.l. was established, opening the door to new investments, new skills and new opportunities.
Then came the digital era.
In 2012, RossiCarta.it was launched, bringing the company into the world of e-commerce. It was a bold decision for a business whose roots were firmly grounded in manufacturing and traditional trade.
Two years later, RossiCarta became the company’s commercial brand, while RedsPaper was created as a dedicated division focused exclusively on custom printed paper.
This was a significant step forward. It allowed us to fully develop and showcase expertise built through decades of working with paper. Custom tissue paper, gift wrapping paper and food-grade papers became the core of a specialized business unit serving brands, retailers, e-commerce companies, converters and packaging manufacturers.
New machines entered production. Manufacturing capacity increased. RedsPaper began exhibiting at major international trade fairs and steadily expanded its presence in the market.
In 2023, the production division moved into a larger facility and further expanded its machinery portfolio. New services were introduced, including contract manufacturing and paper converting services for third parties.
Today, when we look back, we realize that the most remarkable aspect of our story is not its duration.
Many companies are sixty years old.
What makes Rossi Carta unique is that it has never simply been a family business passed from father to son.
It has already successfully navigated multiple generational transitions while preserving its identity, its expertise and its deep connection to paper.
Perhaps that is why we like to think of Rossi Carta as something more than a company.
It is a professional story that has been unfolding since 1963.
A story made of people who inherited a responsibility and passed it on to those who came after them, always trying to leave behind something better than what they had received.
